Reading Intermediate Care – Senior Physiotherapist (Band 6)
Location – Reading Intermediate Care, 7‑9 Cremyll Road, Reading Berkshire RG1 8NQ
The post holder is a Senior Physiotherapist (band 6) who supports community reablement, the community Physio & Falls service and has the clinical skills, expertise and knowledge required.
Responsibilities
* Complete the timely assessment and management of referrals with multiple co‑morbidities and complex rehabilitation needs.
* Support triage of referrals for intermediate care services.
* Provide equipment to promote independence and safety.
* Hold a caseload and work autonomously.
* Work flexibly to ensure urgent referrals are adequately managed.
* Support colleagues in the delivery of compassionate, safe and structured care.
* Provide guidance and appropriate delegation within the team.
* Participate in service development and quality improvement.
* Support the supervision of more junior members of staff, provision of education and clinical physiotherapy advice to staff/students in Intermediate Care.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills.
* Current understanding of intermediate care with experience of rehabilitation and hospital discharge.
* Car driver with ability and readiness to be flexible within working day.
* Skills and knowledge of supporting others and clinical leadership.
* Motivated to participate in service development and support leadership of the team.
