Working with Luton Borough Council an opportunity had arisen for a Leaving Care Personal Adviser. This is a temporary vacancy ending in March 2026. This post will primarily focus on the support of young people who are classed as care leavers under the presnet legislation; however there will be occasions where you may work with young people who remain "looked after" by the local authroity. Your main duties for this role will be: 1. Assessment and Pathway Planning (20%) Undertake comprehensive needs assessments with young people in line with the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000. Develop and regularly review Pathway Plans, ensuring they reflect the changing needs and aspirations of young people. Promote access to and engagement with education, training, employment, and social opportunities.2. Caseload Management (20%) Effectively manage a caseload, ensuring all statutory duties, departmental procedures, and best practices are followed. Maintain regular contact with young people, monitoring progress against their pathway plans and adapting support accordingly.3. Support with Accommodation and Transition to Independence (15%) Provide support and guidance to young people as they move into supported accommodation or independent living.
