What is the job role?
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who has a good understanding of the barriers and challenges that people who are homeless or reside in commissioned supported homeless accommodation face. This new and exciting role will take a lead on the housing and homelessness services approach to ensuring quality and compliance in commissioned supported homeless accommodation, and support the operational efficiency of the commissioned homeless support services, including research, best practices, recommending and supporting the implementation of cross-partnership opportunities and solutions where appropriate.
You will be working with internal and external partners, including but not limited to our commissioned homelessness service providers, the SEA team as well as other internal council directorates.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this post:
1. You will need to be a self-starter, have good negotiating skills, and be an excellent communicator and be highly organised.
2. You will have an excellent understanding of the key issues around the provision of commissioned homeless supported accommodation including its limitations, with an ability to spot trends and use the information to produce recommendations.
3. You must be able to work, using your own initiative, flexibly, and at a fast pace.
4. Demonstrate the ability to build effective, credible, working relationships
5. Confident in collating and analysing information to produce clear and concise reports
