Job Description:
IMH Recruitment is looking for a dedicated Homelessness Prevention Officer to deliver a proactive homelessness prevention service for our client in Tameside, OL6.
You will work with households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, providing advice, support, and housing solutions. This is a frontline role where you will assess housing needs and manage Personal Housing Plans.
* This role is fixed term for 6 months however, there may be possible of an extension for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
* Provide advice, support, and assistance to households at risk of homelessness.
* Conduct assessments and investigations in line with statutory duties.
* Develop and manage Personal Housing Plans to prevent homelessness.
* Work with external partners, including housing providers, private landlords, charities, and community groups.
* Support vulnerable clients with their housing and other related needs.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and performance targets.
* Contribute to reducing homelessness across the Borough through proactive engagement.
Requirements:
* Level 2 qualification including GCSE/CSE English and Maths.
* Experience in homelessness or housing management, including knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
* Strong customer service and face-to-face interaction experience.
* Ability to work with sensitive information and adapt advice to individual needs.
* Experience of multi-agency working and attending court where necessary.
* Ability to analyze complex information and identify solutions.
Hours & Pay:
* 37 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 (duty rota – specific working hours & details will be provided at interview)
* £18.43 Per Hour.
