FUSION HOUSING works across the Kirklees, Calderdale and
Wakefield districts of West Yorkshire, providing help for our
communities to find and maintain housing through legal advice,
employment support, learning opportunities, supported accommodation
and local food bank provision
Support Worker (Housing) – Wakefield
Hours: Full Time 37 hours Monday to Friday
Salary: *Band 3A £24,920 - £25,419 per annum *there is the scope to progress to the
next pay band (3B - £27,514 - £28,625) after successful completion of 6-month probation
period and certain criterion met
Contract: Fixed Term until 31/10/26
Location: Wakefield (Certa House, Lower Warrengate, Wakefield, WF1 1SA) there will
be a requirement to attend any HOMEs properties in Wakefield.
Fusion Housing are looking for the right person to join our support team within our HOMEs
service; you will be experienced in supporting vulnerable individuals to realise their goals and
move on into independent, suitable accommodation.
The role includes:
Supporting people, finding out about their life journey and working together to make their
goals a reality through support planning.
Updating support plans and risk assessments.
Providing person centred support to adults who sometimes have very complex and
challenging behaviours such as learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety and personality
disorders and psychotic disorders
Encouraging individuals to build their confidence so they can create good relations with
others.
Linking in with other professionals such as Housing Officers, Social Workers and CPNs,
Helping remove the barriers people may have to finding suitable independent housing.
Being understanding and supportive when times are tough; you'll become that friendly face
for someone to talk and listen to, whilst supporting the client to tenancy sustainment.
The qualities we're looking for:
A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a sense of curiosity and lots of imagination.
Someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic team where people support each
other and are happy to get stuck in.
Being able to work on own initiative and enjoy the challenge of an ever changing workload.
