We’re looking for a Quality Scientist to join our Laboratory Quality Team, where you’ll play a key role in supporting and continuously improving our Quality Management System. This is a great opportunity to be involved in maintaining our ISO17025, DWTS and MCERTS accreditations, helping ensure our laboratory and sampling activities consistently meet high regulatory and quality standards.
What you’ll be doing as a Quality Scientist
* Supporting the Quality Manager with day-to-day quality activities across both laboratory and sampling teams
* Planning and delivering internal audits across technical methods, quality systems and field operations
* Maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) and associated documentation in line with UKAS, DWI and Environment Agency requirements
* Supporting the preparation for external audits and acting as a key contact during assessments
* Monitoring analytical quality control (AQC) and non-conforming work, ensuring actions are completed and improvements are embedded
* Providing clear guidance, support and training to laboratory and sampling teams on quality processes
* Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and ways of working
What you should bring to the role
* Experience working within an accredited environment such as MCERTS, DWTS or ISO17025
* A strong understanding of ISO17025 and regulatory requirements from the Drinking Water Inspectorate and Environment Agency
* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards
* Experience in auditing, reporting and analysing quality data
* Strong communication skills with the ability to support and influence stakeholders
* A self-motivated and organised approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
