Job Title: Full-Time English Teacher (KS3/KS4) - SEN School

Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Chorley, supporting pupils aged 6-16 with a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons that help pupils develop literacy, communication, and confidence in learning.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every pupil can achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning needs
Differentiate teaching to support pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
Support the development of literacy, reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills
Create a structured, nurturing, and positive classroom environment
Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress against EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Use creative and adaptable teaching strategies to promote engagement and progress
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals
Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development alongside academic achievement
Requirements
QTS/QTLS (essential)
Experience teaching English across KS3 and/or KS4
Previous experience working within SEN or alternative provision settings is highly desirable
Strong understanding of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to teaching and learning
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
