Disclosure Officer - HC622322

Location: Strategic Headquarters - Eastleigh

Hours: 37.00 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Temporary for 12 Months

Salary: Grade SO1 (£35,526.00 - £37,692.00 per annum)

Closing Date: Sunday 23rd November 2025 @ 23:59 hours

This step must be completed so the form is submitted as part of the application process, prior to the vacancy's closing date. Your declaration form should be uploaded alongside your application form. Lack of managerial support will not prohibit you from applying, but it may have implications on your employee status. As a result, you should consider this fully. Such applications will be treated on a case-by-case basis and following consultation with the Head of HR & OD, as per the Secondment guidance.

About the role

Your role will be to ensure the timely response to court orders requiring disclosure, liaising with courts and external solicitors where necessary. Bringing to note instances that will require the attendance of a solicitor or counsel and providing the evidential material necessary for the hearing. To provide timely response to requests for information from agencies.

Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

1. Compile disclosure for the Local Authorities for use in the Family Court for the purposes of safeguarding children. This includes child and adult abuse investigations which may include requests to disclose on rape or death related occurrences. Liaise with and advise Officers regarding live investigations when required.


2. Provide accurate, relevant and proportionate information to inform risk decisions to a range of professionals via a number of routes. DP5’s, voluntary sharing protocols and private Court hearings.

3. Use professional judgement, expertise and experience to collate and prepare and documentation for disclosure to partner agencies and to comply with Court orders.


4. Review disclosure to ensure it is suitably redacted in line with Police guidance, and complies with the Data Protection Act 2018.


5. Raise and manage the invoices to charge for disclosures provided for private Family Court hearings.

6. Communicate with a wide range of partner agencies and members of the public to provide advice and guidance in relation to Police disclosure.

Essential Qualifications

Essential: Educated to QCF Level 3 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

1. Demonstrable, effective work experience in organising large quantities of information into a logical, well-presented format.
2. To have experience of dealing with people of all ranks and levels both within and outside the Police Service.
3. Ability to use Microsoft Office and bespoke IT systems as required (training will be given).
