The Role: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Based at their modern manufacturing facility in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, this is a permanent position working on a Panama shift pattern covering days and nights. You’ll be joining a skilled, supportive engineering team within a business known for its stability, strong safety culture, and commitment to employee development.
Main Responsibilities (Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer):
Ensure continuous production through proactive maintenance and fault finding
Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Perform planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
Skills/Experience (Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer):
Apprentice-trained or time-served in a similar role, ideally with electrical qualifications (e.g. C&G, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Solid mechanical knowledge with proven electrical competence
Understanding of IEE 18th Edition wiring regulations
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental best practice
Proven experience maintaining and fault-finding on a range of industrial plant and equipment
Excellent communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach
Salary & Working Hours (Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer):
£57,000 per annum
3s and 2s Panama shift pattern – rotating days and nights
Average 42 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
