Leeds City College are looking for a Trainer to support our Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs department with accurate record keeping, compliance and funding data.
This role is reduced year, the actual pro rata salary is £24,116 to £25,532 per annum.
1. Hours: 37 hours per week
2. Weeks: 39 weeks per year
The Vine is a department with over 80 Learners with Complex needs and behaviours that can challenge. We deliver a varied curriculum to meet each of our learners' individual needs in line with their EHCP's. Our highly skilled team takes pride in developing our learners' personal and preparation for adulthood skills to prepare them for their future life. We have strong emphasis on working as a team, offering mutual support and flexibility while striving for the highest standards for our learners. Our ultimate goal is to enable our learners to become as independent as possible and lead a happy fulfilled life.
What You Will Do
3. Plan and deliver lessons to support progress to outlined outcomes inline with learners EHCP’s.
4. Lead lessons to learners in line with the objectives of the curriculum and their EHCP outcomes. With support and mentoring from Course leads and programme managers.
5. Creating resources to engage and develop learners skills and upload evidence to Navigate
6. Supporting principles and practical skills to help our learners along their journey into Adulthood
7. Planning, assessing and reviewing the progress the learners make and feeding back in a way which helps them develop their abilities and understanding. With support and mentoring from Course leads and programme managers.
8. You will also work as part of a team to create a nurturing, positive environment for the learners.
About You
9. You will have English and Mathematics at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
10. Appropriate level 5 teaching qualification e.g. Level 5 Award in Education and Training, QTLS or PGCE is desirable.
11. It would be desirable for you to have skills and knowledge on caring for young people and adults with Complex needs and PMLD
12. You will apply restorative practice to your communications with learners and colleagues and be a proactive, flexible and supportive member of the team.
13. You will also have experience of processes ensuring that the care and support is delivered within the guidelines of the college.
