We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Assistant to support site operations and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will conduct regular site visits, audits, and assist in maintaining documentation and compliance with CDM, NRSWA, and other relevant regulation with further reporting to management team.
What you’ll be doing
* Conduct weekly site audits focusing on Quality Assurance (QA) and general site status.
* Monitor and report on compliance with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations.
* Perform safety audits and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
* Assist with site measurements and documentation.
* Supports PreVet processes, helping projects stay on schedule and within scope.
* Ensure compliance with NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) requirements.
* Liaise with site teams to identify and resolve compliance issues promptly
* Ensure designs delivered safely and comply with Company and statutory requirements and update the business on required changes as they arise, working with the engineering team.
* Respond appropriately to Customer Complaints, taking ownership and resolving as appropriate delivering excellent customer service.
* Focus on continuous improvement through quality processes while ensuring standard of safety, quality and environmental management met with zero accident rates.
* Comply with site and workplace audits.
* Attendance at monthly team meetings.
What you’ll bring
* Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
* Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
* High standards of workmanship and consistency
* Awareness of network development policies and procedures.
* Regulatory awareness.
* Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
* Will need to learn SAP to raise P.O.’s, material requisitions and Teco schemes, along with CRM.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
* Previous experience in a relevant role involving in projects delivery
* Full understanding of construction site operations and regulations.
* Familiarity with CDM and NRSWA compliance is required.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and travel to various site locations.
* Working knowledge of company Health & Safety requirements and compliance.
* Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
