Home Manager – Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Home Manager to join our ever‑growing team!
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure staff under your responsibility apply policy and meet expected standards or have issues addressed.
* Provide required supervision and appraisal, record accurately, and identify training needs.
* Monitor staff absence, conduct Return to Work interviews, and hold absence review meetings as per policy.
* Communicate effectively between senior management and all stakeholders.
* Manage rostering and deployment, covering shortfalls within budget.
* Participate in recruitment and selection of care staff.
* Plan, prepare, supervise and assess all daily routines and curriculum.
* Apply correct procedures to support young people in domestic and personal matters, promoting independence.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent child/adult care/support qualification, or willingness to work towards it.
Experience
* Proven experience leading and managing a team, developing good practice in a care/learning support context.
* Proven experience working effectively with young people with learning disabilities and/or special needs.
* Experience planning, organising, and learning activities that meet young people’s needs and produce positive outcomes.
The Forum School
The Forum School and Residential Home is a 52‑week residential and specialist school providing therapeutic care and education for young people with autism, severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Children and young people aged 7‑19 attend our school.
Recruitment and Safeguarding
Requirements for an enhanced DBS and reference checking will be conducted in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice. Final selection will be based on suitability to work with children, with safeguards against bias and discrimination.
