Team Leader – Mental Health Recovery Service
Reference: NWM/701. We have two Team Leader positions available. Below is the information for Post 2.
Hours: Part Time – 23 hours per week. 6-month probation required.
Weekly Schedule (Week 1 & 2):
Wednesday: 2 PM – 6 PM
Thursday: 10:30 AM – 6 PM
Friday: 10:30 AM – 6 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Salary: £26,818 per annum, rising to £28,392 after 6-month probation. Salary quoted is for full-time hours; it will be pro-rata for part-time hours.
Location: The role will be based locally in Great Yarmouth or Gorleston. Exact location details will be provided during the recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the team, ensuring clarity of values and responsiveness to service users’ needs. Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to Recovery Workers and Volunteers.
* Deliver immediate crisis support and safety planning to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
* Provide trauma-informed, recovery-focused workshops, sessions, and one-on-one support, including cognitive-behavioural tools, mindfulness, and emotional regulation techniques.
* Position the Hub as a community resource by offering education on mental health and a safe, welcoming environment for those in need.
* Maintain the smooth running of the Hub, ensuring high service standards, evaluating impact, and managing risks. Provide regular operational statistics and service feedback to the Service Manager.
* Liaise with external agencies, GPs, and community teams to establish referral pathways and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
* Lead group work programmes addressing mental health, substance abuse, poverty, housing issues, and related challenges.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven team-leader experience, ideally within mental-health or recovery services.
* Strong understanding of crisis intervention and recovery-based approaches.
* Experience managing and supporting teams, including volunteers and support workers.
* Ability to collaborate with external agencies and internal teams.
* Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
* Familiarity with clinical systems such as IAPTUS.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, psychologically informed care that empowers individuals to lead their own recovery journey.
Note: Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
