Clapgate Primary School is a large and vibrant two-form-entry school with a 78-place nursery. Despite being located in an area with a surplus of school places, Clapgate stands out for its warm, nurturing environment, high academic standards, and exceptional pupil progress. Job Vacancy: Year 4 Class Teacher
Are you a creative, highly skilled, and caring teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to inspire and nurture young learners? Clapgate Primary School is seeking a dedicated Year 4 Class Teacher who is committed, enthusiastic, and ready to join a vibrant and supportive community.

Contract: Full time - Temporary until 31st August 2026

Key Responsibilities
•Deliver inspiring, high-quality lessons that engage Year 4 pupils and meet their diverse needs
•Involve children as active learners in all lessons, fostering engagement and curiosity
•Support pupils to make strong academic progress, regularly assessing and responding to their learning needs
•Promote high levels of oracy and communication skills within the classroom, encouraging confident pupil voice
•Have a creative and flexible approach to teaching, adapting to the needs of all learners
•Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all pupils, including those with SEND
•Show a strong commitment to outdoor learning and give children opportunities to work with our animals
•Embed the school’s golden threads and creativity across the curriculum
•Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing
•Support and contribute to whole-school initiatives and extra-curricular activities
•Bring energy, vision, and enthusiasm to our school, inspiring colleagues and pupils alike
Required Qualifications and Experience
•Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•Proven experience teaching primary-aged children, preferably Key Stage 2
•Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
•Ability to deliver a rich and ambitious curriculum with creativity and flexibility
•Willingness to contribute to the school’s outdoor learning and personal development programmes

•Energy, vision, and enthusiasm to drive learning and school improvement
•A passion for the arts and outdoor learning
•Enthusiastic, cooperative, and committed to promoting a positive school culture
•Commitment to promoting oracy and pupil voice
Other Duties
•Comply with all school policies including safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.
•Participate in regular professional development and training.
•Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, pupils, and external agencies.
•Complete First Aid training if required.
