About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated Head of Humanities (geography/history) to join our team on a supply basis covering maternity cover starting in October. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and passionate leader to contribute to the education of students in a secondary school in the Ashfield area.
Key Responsibilities:
· Head of Department duties, including managing the curriculum
· Leading curriculum development
· Managing staff and ensuring high academic standards for students.
· Developing schemes of work, analysing student data, ensuring effective teaching and learning strategies are implemented.
· Managing departmental resources and budgets and fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the department.
· Expected to provide consistent leadership, ensuring that students in Years 7-11 receive high-quality education in both subjects
· Maintaining continuity in the curriculum and fostering a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience with a similar role
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* A passion for inspiring students and helping them develop their literacy skills.
* DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
