About The Role
Due to continued growth and succession within our Machine Shop we are looking for an additional Team Leader to join our growing Team.
Responsibilities
* Lead by example and provide leadership to the machine shop team.
* Create work packages using the ERP system and monitor progress through the shop.
* Carry out Daily morning meetings to allocate and manage tasks assigned to the team to meet the requirements of the plan.
* Monitor and report on the situation relating to the performance of the team.
* Measure and record appropriate metrics to support relevant KPIs.
* Use these KPIs to determine appropriate actions to improve the performance of the team.
* Carry out staff appraisals and reviews detailing coaching requirements where required.
* Ensure the workforce has the appropriate skill sets through training and development and that it is motivated and performing to expectations.
* Implement best practices to improve production throughput, capacity, quality and reliability.
* Any other related duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
Skills and Experience
* Ideally you will have previous experience in the manufacture of machined components
* A track record in leading a team to success.
* Able to understand technical and exploded drawings.
* Must be able to create work packages and details.
* The ability to operate and set a wide range of CNC and conventional machinery including mills, lathes presses and saws. Able to use manual lathes and mills is would be benificial.
* Must be able to maintain a very high quality to tight tolerances.
* A strong knowledge of modern manufacturing methods is required to succeed in the role.
* Knowledge of, or exposure to LEAN manufacturing techniques.
