Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
Lead the strategic procurement of goods and materials, managing a multi-million-pound spend to support extensive stock holdings across multiple warehouse facilities.
* Supplier Relationship Management & Development:
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with a diverse nature of UK and overseas manufacturing suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships.
* Negotiation & Contract Management:
Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, quality, delivery terms, and service levels; manage supplier contracts and agreements effectively.
* New Supplier Identification & Onboarding:
Proactively identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to broaden the supply base, enhance resilience, and drive competitive advantage.
* Demand Planning & Procurement Scheduling:
Collaborate with relevant internal teams to translate demand forecasts into precise purchasing plans and schedules, ensuring timely acquisition of materials.
* Purchase Order Management:
Oversee the end-to-end process for purchasing requisitions, from approval to purchase order generation and tracking, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Cost Optimisation & Value Analysis
: Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality, through rigorous value analysis and strategic sourcing initiatives.
* Supply Chain Collaboration:
Work closely with the in-house teams including Research & Development, Product Design, QA and Sales to ensure purchasing activities align with product development, quality standards, and sales targets.
* Market Intelligence:
Stay abreast of market trends, supplier capabilities, and commodity price fluctuations to enable informed decision-making.
* Team Leadership & Development:
Manage, mentor, and develop a small team.
* System Utilisation:
Effectively use the in-house commercial system for all purchasing activities, including supplier management, forecasting, order processing, and procurement reporting.

Terms and Conditions
* Full-time, permanent position.
* Monday to Friday, typically 9.00am to 5.00pm, with flexibility.
* 30-minute lunch break.
* Monthly Pay in arrears by the 28th day of each month.
