Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: WF4 Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs? A school in the WF4 area is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support, foster independence, and make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development. About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with additional needs in the classroom, helping them access learning, develop skills, and participate fully in school life. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure each student’s needs are met effectively. Responsibilities: - Implement personalised learning plans and support strategies to meet individual student needs. - Assist students in academic, social, and emotional development. - Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters trust and engagement. - Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to provide comprehensive support. - Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and activities. - Support students with personal care, where required, maintaining dignity and respect. - Encourage participation in classroom and school activities using effective communication strategies. Qualifications: - Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role is preferred. - Understanding of SEN and evidence-based support strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students. - A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students.
