The Role
We are looking for a talented and motivated teacher of Design & Technology who can deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. If you are committed to providing an engaging and ambitious curriculum for all students, and love hands-on learning, innovative projects, and inspiring the next generation of designers, makers, and problem-solvers—we want to hear from you!
This is a full-time position to start immediately, until Christmas initially, with the opportunity to develop into a permanent role with school.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, challenging DT lessons in line with curriculum requirements across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5
* Teach across a range of DT disciplines (e.g., Product Design, Engineering, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, Food—depending on your strengths)
* Plan and assess effectively to ensure all students make strong progress
* Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring workshop/learning environment
* Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school
* Participate in extracurricular clubs, competitions, or STEM initiatives]
About You
We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs. You will be:
* A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
* Passionate about Design & Technology and hands-on, practical learning
* Skilled in building positive relationships and engaging learners of all abilities
* Knowledgeable about health & safety in workshop environments
* Creative, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement
