All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high‑speed rail projects.
We’re looking to recruit a Landscape Clerk of Works to join our team based at our Greatworth to Southam section of works.
Responsibilities
In this role you will oversee the delivery of landscape design packages, ensuring quality adherence to specification, checking workmanship, materials and design requirements are met. You will assist in managing early landscape and ecology mitigations, attend programme meetings, audit and check works to support payment applications, interpret technical drawings and designs to enable site teams and sub‑contractors to deliver, manage delivery tracking and progress reporting, report against ITP criteria and unblock barriers ahead of potential delays. You will assist in the design change process liaising with designers and stakeholders, close out changes within tight timescales, and be involved in route‑wide design requirements in relation to the Environmental Statement (ES) and relevant U&A. Part of the role is assurance that key landscape design elements, health and safety and ecology requirements are met, contributing to the assurance that the specification (SCEW) requirements are adhered to on site and providing evidence for early warnings and communications with sub‑contractors. You will also maintain programmes for reporting and compliance, assist with implementing BS EN ISO14001 certification and audits, and work with the wider Environmental Team, client, designers, community, stakeholder and PR managers to ensure programme delivery and promote best practice in environmental management and sustainability.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Qualification in engineering, landscaping, environment or another relevant field.
* Member / Associate of an appropriate professional body.
* Strong practical understanding of landscape construction specification (SCEW) and delivery, preferably within the context of infrastructure projects.
* Ability to interpret and scrutinise complex design, identify and resolve conflicts on the ground.
* Ability to use GIS-related applications, produce reports and gather evidence for compliance and assurance purposes.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships and networks across contractors and subcontractor organisations.
* Understanding of ecology and ecological management in a construction context.
* Holder of SSSTS/SMSTS.
* Driving licence is required for this role (site‑focused with multiple work sites and streams).
