We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at a vibrant special school in Swinton. Our school provides a caring and inclusive environment for pupils aged [insert age range, e.g. 5-16] with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will:
Work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning and personal development.
Provide individualised support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, helping them to engage in lessons and develop essential life skills.
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions, both in small groups and one-to-one settings.
Help to create a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to promote inclusion and wellbeing.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Is patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Has experience working with pupils with SEND (school, nursery, or care setting experience welcome).
Can communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
Is able to remain calm and positive when faced with challenges.
Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEND qualification.
