About the Partnership

Founded in 2011, the South London Legal Partnership (SLLP) is the in‑house legal service for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton and Wandsworth. SLLP is committed to being a high‑performing shared legal service that plays an essential part in the achievement of the priorities and objectives of our five local authorities for the benefit of their communities. The partnership employs 150‑160 staff and has an annual turnover of £14 million, representing over 1 million people across the constituent councils. Operating at scale has enabled us to recruit and retain excellent staff and provide a consistently high standard of service to our five boroughs.

Role Overview

Having recently expanded our Housing Litigation Team we are seeking to recruit a lawyer to join a vibrant, dedicated and highly skilled team where every member is valued, supported and encouraged to be part of the team’s development and processes.

Responsibilities & Scope

A knowledge of local government legislation is desirable and can be developed.

Qualifications

Qualified lawyers with a background in housing civil litigation who are real team players, self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work to tight timescales.

Values & Culture

SLLP’s Vision & Values include a commitment to improving services through the development of our staff in an inclusive and supportive environment. We aim to attract and retain a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve. We are based in South West London and offer a wide range of flexible working options, including hybrid working, and have developed a number of health and well‑being initiatives over the years.
