Job Description

Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining the policies and standards that guide technology delivery, possessing significant experience in modern, cloud-based technology standards and practices.
As Solution Architect, you will lead a team of architects and provide architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high-volume, mission-critical products and services. There will also be opportunities to oversee ongoing architectural needs within our Control Room application suites.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Delivery, and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap to meet both our commercial and technological goals.
The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance to ensure successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products into clients while protecting our commercial position.
Successful candidates should be able to mediate between people, explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels. An understanding of the evolutionary nature of technology delivery in an agile environment is essential. You will facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity within constrained timescales.
The Solution Architect will collaborate with project or programme managers and the wider architecture team to:
1. Ensure that scope of supply is correctly documented and maintained.
2. Identify and manage technical project risks.
3. Ensure non-functional requirements from customers are agreed and documented.
4. Ensure impact assessments are practical, well-scoped, and leverage existing products where possible.
5. Identify opportunities for selling additional product capabilities.
Qualifications
You will have a good understanding/awareness of:
* C++, C#, SQL Server, Windows platforms, Domains / AD, Mitel skills-based routing integration
And good practical knowledge of some or all of the following:
* C coding, SIP protocol, VOIP – RTP / RTCP, latency / jitter handling
You will also have in-depth knowledge of some or all of the following:
* Tetra network behaviors – specifically Motorola Dimetra
* 3GPP network behaviors – related to Kodiak MCX
* MCX API usage of Softil SDK
* Analogue Radio base stations – VHF, MF
* Telephone PABX functionality
* Airwave certification processes
* EISEC service
The Solution Architect will manage relationships with customer technical staff, support technical issues, and assist with the bid process including technical responses and infrastructure sizing, primarily cloud-based.
This role also involves promoting and leading the architectural vision within the team and across wider business units.
