Base: A41 Compound (just outside Aylesbury)
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
3 days in the office, 2 days at home
The Opportunity
Matchtech are seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Advsior to join a well‑established team supporting the safe delivery of a major HS2 work package. Based from the A41 compound near Aylesbury, you'll work closely with the section SHW Lead and on‑site operational teams to continuously drive safety standards and promote a positive SHW culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities
Support and promote both Corporate and Local SHW Campaigns across the delivery area.
Build strong relationships with operational teams and the supply chain to monitor and improve SHW performance.
Carry out Site Safety Inspections across all live activities and identify trends, patterns or anomalies.
Track and advise on the close‑out of audit findings, inspections, investigations and corrective actions.
Provide the SHW Manager with insight into recurring issues to inform local initiatives and performance improvements.
Communicate and apply the relevant content of the Business Management System to ensure consistent compliance.
Ensure project teams follow NEC processes including EWN/PMI requirements (where applicable).
About You
We're looking for a proactive safety professional with strong engagement skills and the ability to influence behaviours on fast‑moving civils projects.
Essential:
NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
TechIOSH status or higher
Strong knowledge of SH&W on major construction or large-scale civil engineering projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Valid CSCS card - White, White/Yellow, Red (Experienced), Black or Gold
