Relief Nursery Chef - Multi-Site Role £34,000 per annum | Full-Time | Monday to Friday Are you a passionate Nursery Chef who enjoys creating nutritious meals that help children thrive? We're looking for an experienced Relief Nursery Chef to support a group of high-quality nurseries across the South East. Based primarily at a nursery in the New Cross area, you'll also provide cover across other settings within the group when required. Any travel undertaken outside of your base nursery will be fully covered. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef who understands the important role nutrition plays in children's development. You'll be responsible for preparing healthy, balanced meals that are both appealing and nutritious. What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Nursery Chef, School Chef, Cook, or similar catering role Strong knowledge of children's nutrition and healthy menu planning Experience catering for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, and intolerances Excellent understanding of food hygiene, temperature control, and food safety procedures Ability to prepare fresh, nutritious meals from scratch Strong organisational and time management skills Flexibility to travel across multiple nursery locations when required What's On Offer £34,000 per annum Monday to Friday working pattern Main base nursery in New Cross Travel expenses covered when supporting other nurseries Heavily discounted childcare Generous pension scheme Additional day off for your birthday Sector-leading training and development Life insurance Refreshments provided Supportive and welcoming team environment Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children Plan menus that meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements Manage food allergies, intolerances, and specialist diets safely and effectively Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate records Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised, and fully compliant with food safety regulations Order and manage stock efficiently Support multiple nursery locations when cover is required Build positive relationships with nursery teams and management All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including satisfactory references and verification of the right to work in the UK.
