Overview Our client has an exciting opportunity within their Technical team for a skilled professional to support the delivery of high-quality housing projects.
The Technical and Design teams are involved in all aspects of housing design, innovation, and material selection. This department focuses on ensuring high-quality, cost-effective materials are used while delivering sustainable solutions in line with evolving building and environmental regulations.
With a wide range of development sitesoften involving existing structureseach project presents unique design challenges. Most team members come from architectural or engineering backgrounds, and this role offers the opportunity to further develop expertise in design and project management in a stimulating and varied environment.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate external design consultants, secure technical approvals, discharge planning conditions, procure mains services, issue construction drawings, and support on-site operations.
Key Responsibilities Obtain technical drawings and approvals to support efficient site starts.
Minimise project risk through timely, high-quality information.
Brief, manage, and drive external consultants to deliver production information aligned with programme, scope, and fee structures.
Assist in developing Design Programmes and present updates at Progression Meetings.
Submit and follow up on statutory enquiries, sewer connections, and other legal agreements.
Manage NHBC/Building Regulations submissions and secure approvals.
Ensure working drawings align with approved planning schemes and support the discharge of planning and building control conditions.
Liaise with the Commercial team to maintain cost-effective production information aligned with budget estimates.
Monitor Professional Fees budgets and update monthly fee reports.
Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures.
Oversee preparation and approval of Brochure Plans, Conveyance Plans, and Sales Area drawings.
Attend site progress meetings and undertake site inspections.
Contribute to project meetings including Land/Technical handovers, Optimisation, Progression, Technical/Sales, and Budget Meetings.
Maintain strong coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Participate in subcontractor interviews and meetings as required.
Respond to site queries and resolve technical or construction issues.
Issue drawings and information required for construction.
