Role Brief
Due to an exciting period of growth, we are seeking an additional dynamic and experienced Powder Coating Supervisor to lead our team in meeting business demands. This is a Key Supervisory role within our Powder Coating department. You will possess excellent managerial and interpersonal skills, enabling you to manage a team effectively.
Reporting directly to the Production Director, you must have experience in a fast-paced industry and be flexible to meet the needs of a shift-working environment, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Must be willing to work a late shift pattern with possible overtime to meet the needs of the department. The late shift currently operates from 13:45 to 22:00, Monday to Thursday, and from 12:30 to 19:30 on Friday.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintaining production within the powder coating area per the weekly production plan.
* Communicate progress and targets to departments within the Hartley Botanic Organisation, including handover between the early and night shift teams.
* Ensuring work is carried out to a high-quality standard.
* Reviewing and signing off on completion of all products to ensure quality is being maintained at the highest levels across the whole process, and addressing any issues that arise, whilst ensuring that quality is always maintained.
* Monitor and document all quality issues weekly, which includes attending a weekly Production meeting with other Supervisors and Managers.
* Monitor and update stock levels weekly and inform the Powder Coating Manager to ensure all stock levels are maintained to agreed limits.
* To ensure a clean and tidy working environment and that staff are using all required PPE.
* Manage and provide guidance, motivation and support for staff within the Powder Coating Area.
* Be responsible for Training and addressing any colleague issues, documenting any actions taken.
* Manage and organise tasks to individual staff members within the Powder Coating area.
Competencies and Role Requirements
* Powder Coating experience is essential.
* Pro-active hands-on experience.
* Hold suitable qualifications or be qualified by experience, as well as experience with supervising and managing others
* Team Management experience is essential.
* Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Flexible to meet the needs of the business. Must be willing to work late shift.
* Numerate, articulate and logical thinking.
* Have significant self-motivation and initiative with the ability to manage own workload and work with minimal supervision.
* You must have excellent People skills and communication skills with the ability to manage a complex manufacturing environment.
* Ability to work supportively as part of a team and with a friendly and approachable personality.
* Hold a high degree of accuracy and ability to work within required tolerances and quality standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £17.20 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 38 per week
