The Gateway is a beautiful hotel, restaurant and bar in Kendal with an excellent reputation. Set just outside of Kendal at Plumgarths roundabout and in the Lake District national park customers travel from all over the country to visit.
The Gateway currently has 8 letting rooms and a strong restaurant and bar trade. With the expansion of the outdoor areas we expect a busy summer period at the site.
The Gateway has built an excellent reputation for food and has a premium gastropub style with excellent service to compliment this. We offer a modern British menu which changes seasonally alongside more casual daytime options.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within our expanding organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership abilities, play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, have strong leadership and organisational skills who can inspire confidence, motivate the team and work efficiently under pressure.
REQUIREMENTS
* Line management of FoH Team members
* Coach the FOH assistants and FOH supervisors in the completion of their duties to company standard
* Attend key player meetings to review business intelligence and contribute to business development
* Organise the FOH team for each shift allocating clear duties and roles
* Maintain an overview and operational awareness of the whole shop floor
* Have experience of working face-to-face with customers and manage a team
* Have experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service
* Have the ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands – can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties
