S26-017 MASH Safeguarding Support Officer (LC4-5)

Lancashire Constabulary’s VGU MASH team is seeking Safeguarding Support Officers to be based at Accrington. The purpose of this role is to risk assess Vulnerable Person Reports, ensuring that the quality is of a good standard in order to share with appropriate partner agencies in MASH. The role also includes liaising with partner agencies to provide the right support to keep children and vulnerable people safe, working towards the MASH purpose.


Key Responsibilities

* Conduct multi-agency risk assessments on vulnerability reports.
* Engage in discussions with partner agencies to decide on the most appropriate intervention.
* In conjunction with partner agencies assess information about the likelihood of the referred person suffering harm, ensuring sound decision making to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
* Accurately record decisions on Police and Partner Agency systems and share information appropriately in respect of Safeguarding and Early Help.
* Interrogate databases and research relevant information to assist in the identification and management of risk and protection of children and vulnerable persons.
* Communicate and liaise with professionals from divisions, departments and partner agencies to deal with a wide variety of issues.
* Provide close administrative support for MASH Safeguarding Co-ordinator including word processing, electronic mailing and the preparation of statistical data as required.
* Carry out any other duties consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post.


Skills And Experience

* Experience of working in partnership with other departments and agencies.
* Experience of working with minimal supervision, organising and prioritising own workload.


Vetting And Medical

As a condition of appointment, you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). There is a minimum 3‑year UK residency requirement for recruitment vetting and you must be at least 18 years old at the time of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment. The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
