We’re seeking a Claims Analyst with a sharp eye for detail and a strong grasp of data. If you possess excellent analytical and numerical skills, have a solid foundation in Microsoft Excel, and have garnered experience in a Claims role within the Insurance industry, we’d like to hear from you!

We’re looking for a Claims Insight Analyst to join our Performance team either working remotely or based in our Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex offices.

In this role you’ll drive the continuing and material improvements in claims indemnity performance, in partnership with 1st Central Underwriting Limited. You’ll form the vital link between frontline claims operations and reserving & pricing.

Core skills we’re looking for to succeed in the role:

1. Strong analytical and numerical skills
2. Technical competency in Microsoft Excel

Nice to have skills, but optional:

3. Experience in a Claims role within the Insurance industry
4. Competent in SQL or similar, and appropriate tools to exploit this


What’s involved:

5. Deliver regular reporting to business leaders on current and future claims indemnity performance
6. Deliver analysis of performance trends, inconsistencies and opportunities in line with priorities agreed by the executive.
7. Utilise numerous data sources to develop deep insights into claims performance, across the balanced scorecard
8. Present and visualise analysis so that it can be clearly understood and adds value to the business
9. Work with the operational teams to make recommendations to drive step changes in indemnity performance, following this through to delivery
10. Work closely with colleagues in Finance to track and evidence delivery of benefits across expense, income and indemnity
11. Work alongside industry benchmarking providers to continuously evaluate company performance against the market
12. Support the wider Performance team as appropriate, leveraging skills and capabilities to respond to business needs

Experience

13. Proven experience of data mining, transformation, synthesis and reporting
14. Proven experience of using data and insights understand claims indemnity performance
15. Experience of using data and insights to lead performance discussions and formulating recommendations for improvement
16. The ability to work under pressure, dealing with multiple tasks or requests simultaneously
17. Excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage difficult conversations
18. Team player, working to create and achieve shared objectives
19. Ability to disseminate technical information and present comprehensively

Skills

20. Advanced level use of MS Office applications
21. Competent in SQL or similar, and appropriate tools to exploit this
22. Understanding of actuarial methodologies
23. Strong analytical and numerical skills
24. Ability to present and visualise data to a high quality and adapt for wide range of audience
25. Problem solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome data challenges
26. An understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement tools, thinking and methodologies
27. Ability to communicate risks and issues at all levels of the organisation
28. Excellent stakeholder management skills
29. Commercially focused and results driven
30. Understanding of Motor insurance industry
