The role of SHEQ Officer is central to maintaining these standards and driving continuous improvement across the business.Role OverviewReporting to the SHEQ Manager, the SHEQ Officer will work with all relevant departments, particularly with the operational functions of the business. Ensuring all SHEQ policies and procedures are developed, rolled out, administered, and maintained.Key ResponsibilitiesTo provide general Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental advice specific to business needs and continuously advising on good practice and statutory obligationsEnsure Health, Safety, Quality and Environment is firmly embedded within the culture of CFM and its employees ensuring all Employees are suitably inducted on SHEQTrack, Improve & Develop Site Strategies for sustained SHEQ PerformanceBe a key driver in delivering the CFM Sustainability Strategy in line with our 2030 targetsMaintain ISO standards and accreditations and assist in attaining further standards in line with the business overall Strategic Direction and the continual development of our Integrated Management System, championing a robust Non-Conformance procedure to drive continuous improvementProactively monitor SHEQ compliance across all sites and implement improvements, utilizing the Technology available to do this effectivelyImplement systems of work and support managers to secure meaningful Employee and Subcontractor involvementActively lead implementation of legal, insurance and corporate standardsCoordinate reporting and investigation procedures for accidents/incidents to establish the root causes and preventative measures required as well as producing statistics and communicating various findings and assisting in the development of localised improvement plansProvide support in implementing a risk management system. Ensure HSE risks and impacts are appropriately identifiedCoordinate the agenda on environmental controls, waste management systemsWork with HR on well-being programsCoordinate and deliver in-house training with ManagersCarrying out internal audits of the Health, Safety, Environmental processes measuring performanceCarrying out internal and external site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered toIncreasing Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality awareness to Managers and Team Members with training techniques and coaching sessions including toolbox talksRepresenting and promoting the organisation's safety performance to third parties (e.g. clients and the Health and Safety Executive)To perform the job in accordance with the companys policies and procedures, especially the Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy.To perform any other duties as may be reasonably requiredEducation / Experience:Previous experience in a similar SHEQ Officer or HSE role is essentialIOSH or NEBOSH qualification requiredThe SHEQ Officer must demonstrate strong competence in SHEQ practicesAuditor experience is desirable for the SHEQ OfficerExperience with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 is desirable for the SHEQ OfficerFull UK driving licence is essential for the SHEQ Officer roleQualification in Environmental Management (or working towards)Practical knowledge of quality improvement techniquesSkills/Competencies:The successful SHEQ Officer will demonstrate:Ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong negotiation and communication skillsEffective presentation skillsCollaborative approach across all levels of the businessAbility to influence and drive behavioural changePassion for continuous improvement and making a differenceConfidence in engaging with team members at all levelsWHJS1_NI
