Warwick Senior High School (SHS) is an Independent Public School located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Ideally situated, it is a school with a strong tradition of academic excellence. The school provides a mix of traditional and innovative programs. It offers courses leading to tertiary studies,Technical and Further Education (TAFE) traineeships and apprenticeships and the workplace. Warwick's specialist programs include Department of Education Approved Netball and Australian Rules Football, school based Academic Excellence, Dance Elite and Music, as well as several vocational education and training Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificates

The Role

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for opening/closing the school, carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning.

You would carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, general cleaning, and other such duties as required. Additionally, you would complete vacation cleaning duties, which includes the stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas, and other such duties as required.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in supervising staff, as you would work alongside school staff and manage staff performance in consultation with the Facilities Coordinator and the Manager Corporate Services (MCS). The successful applicant will have good attention to detail and will and record and respond all issues and concerns to the MCS. As the Cleaner in Charge, you would be organised, reliable and punctual. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleaner’s time book, arrange relief staff, be responsible for monitoring and ordering stock supplies and stocktake of cleaning resources.

You will undertake induction training for new staff and monthly cleaning inspections. During the vacation periods in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services you will develop a vacation clean timetable with various cleaning duties, such as pressure cleaning verandas and undercover areas, and other duties as outlined in the Fundamentals of Cleaning Guidelines.
