Blantyre Short Breaks provides tailored short holidays for individuals with communication support needs and physical or learning disabilities. Designed to accommodate up to seven adults, the service offers a warm, welcoming environment where people we support can enjoy meaningful, fun experiences both within the building and out in the community.
At Blantyre Short Breaks, we ensure every person we support has the kind of holiday they want-one filled with joy, connection, and lasting memories. To achieve this, we are looking for Support Practitioners who bring energy, creativity, and a drive to deliver exceptional experiences.
Every individual we support is unique, and so is the assistance we provide. Our aim is to create a positive, engaging environment where people we support feel empowered, active, and connected. Activities are tailored to individual preferences, ranging from in-house entertainment to participating in wider community events.
At the heart of our approach is building trusting relationships, which form the foundation for providing effective, compassionate support.
Part of this role involves driving service user vehicles, including cars and minibuses, to safely support transport to and from activities both on-site and in the community.
Provide personal care and practical support, including housework, medication administration, meal preparation, and companionship.
• Collaborate with families and other professionals to deliver high-quality care aligned with individual Support Plans.
• Promote independence and individuality, enabling guests to enjoy their holiday to the fullest.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of daily tasks and support provided.
• We offer enriching activities tailored to the people we support, helping them build resilience and create lasting memories.
To help you succeed, we provide comprehensive training and development to enhance your skills and career in a supportive team environment.
This role involves working a variety of shifts, including:
• Morning shifts: 7:30am - 3:00pm
• Afternoon shifts: 2:30pm - 10:00pm
• Waking night shifts: 9:45pm - 7:45am
• Sleepover shifts as needed
You'll work across seven days, including regular weekends, ensuring consistency and stability for the people we support. A flexible, committed approach is essential to meet the needs of the service.
