Key Responsibilities: Role Purpose Your primary role is the ownership & leadership of the Strategic Sourcing activity of your commodity and to ensure Direct production materials are available, at agreed levels of performance for quality, delivery & cost to support customer demand and the monthly business sales targets. This will be achieved through alignment & collaboration with the wider Supply Chain team and WML functions. Main Duties And Responsibilities You will ensure the Company’s Health & Safety policy is followed and applicable improvements and concerns are recorded on the Watson-Marlow OHSAS18001 safety management system including near miss, accidents, high potential events and risk assessments. You will improve the management and performance of our Strategic Sourcing activities, to agreed levels of supplier QCD performance levels, improving overall business service levels and minimising risk, in conjunction with the wider Supply Chain team. You will ensure effective key stakeholder management and implement effective sourcing strategies and contracts that provide suitable opportunity & risk management performance. You will develop suitable performance (BSC) and risk management metrics to assess supplier performance levels, including: OTIF, PPV, SRM, KAM. You will support the development of data analytics for the above and implement suitable root cause analysis tools to ensure ‘failure’ issues are, where possible, eliminated. You will support the wider Supply Chain team to drive higher levels of departmental performance and contribution to overall business performance through effective collaboration, alignment and delivery of key objectives. You will drive continuous improvement for key processes & systems that support the team, to build on added value and to remove waste, initially through improved manual routines and then through the appropriate adoption of digital tools. Skills/Experience: Person Specification: Criteria: Essential(E) Desirable or Working Towards (DW) Previous Experience : In strategic procurement, understanding and implementing long-term strategic decisions and supported by appropriate process & system knowledge DW Building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers E Using strong commercial and financial awareness with effective negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills DW Analysing data and the ability to interpret data to provide strategic and tactical solutions E Purchasing complex items and understanding the technical issues involved.
