Our client, a leading organisation in the Distribution industry, is seeking an enthusiastic Transport Manager to join their vibrant team.
What You'll Do: As the Transport Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a busy transport department. You'll work closely with drivers, operations teams, and the customer quality team to maintain high standards of service and compliance. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing drivers and ensuring compliance with transport legislation and health & safety standards.
2. Collaborating with the Transport Manager to support day-to-day logistics operations.
3. Monitoring KPIs and striving for continuous improvement.
4. Supporting accident investigations in line with the company's reporting process.
5. Regularly checking for infringements and updating driver compliance records.
6. Reporting on any accidents or incidents and fulfilling other duties as required.
7. Occasional travel to other sites and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For: To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. A full UK Driving License.
2. A detailed understanding of relevant legislation in transport and health & safety.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT applications.
4. A minimum of 2 years' experience in Transport Management.
Key Competencies: We are seeking a candidate with:
1. Strong logistics experience.
2. Excellent analytical, planning, and prioritisation skills.
3. A flexible approach to working hours to meet operational needs. Standard working hours 6.30am-3.00pm.
