We are seeking a Global Head of Customer Marketing & Development to join our team at one of our European sites.
Reporting to the President of Europe, the Head of Customer Marketing & Development owns the end-to-end customer brand experience: marketing, public relations, consumer insights, category management, trade-show activation, and retailer collaboration. You will craft a compelling brand vision, translate it into commercially impactful initiatives with major customers, and champion capabilities that unlock growth for both the company and our retail partners.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
1. Develop a 3-5 year customer marketing strategy aligned with brand vision, category trends, and retail growth plans.
2. Manage the Integrated Business Planning cycle for marketing, aligning forecasts with campaign and launch schedules.
3. Create and oversee Joint Business Plans with key retailers, establishing shared KPIs, co-funded marketing, and innovation goals.
4. Establish and manage an Insights Hub utilizing POS, loyalty data, social listening, and agronomy inputs to inform strategy.
5. Oversee category management by maintaining the Global Avocado Category Vision and implementing data-driven planograms.
6. Lead omnichannel retailer initiatives, including e-commerce, Q-commerce, and retail media, to maximize shopper engagement.
7. Plan and execute flagship events such as Fruit Logistica and key customer immersions, with ROI tracking.
8. Develop digital marketing strategies, linking media performance to in-store and online sales.
9. Collaborate with R&D and Value Added teams on innovation projects and explore new revenue streams through co-branding.
10. Act as the company spokesperson for sustainability and nutrition; manage crisis communication and PR readiness.
11. Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of insights, innovation, and inclusion.
12. Ensure sound financial governance through zero-based budgeting, ROI tracking, and scenario planning.
13. Refine premiumization strategies and product assortment to grow market share and category value.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or master's preferred.
2. Extensive experience in senior marketing or category roles within FMCG, fresh produce, or retail, with success working with top European grocery retailers.
3. Willingness to be based at one of our European main sites, including Paris (FR), Munich (GE), Kent (UK), or Poeldijk (NL).
4. Frequent travel as required by business needs.
5. Proficiency in consumer & shopper insight methodologies.
6. Experience in category management (e.g., Space & Assortment, Nielsen/IRI).
7. Skills in PR & media relations, including crisis communication.
8. Experience in event marketing & trade show execution.
9. Budget management and ROI modeling expertise.
10. Proficiency with data tools like PowerBI/Tableau and digital marketing platforms.
11. Strategic, commercially-minded brand leadership with understanding of P&L, trade dynamics, and consumer growth strategies.
12. Influential communicator and storyteller, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and translating insights into compelling narratives.
13. Innovative team builder, passionate about mentoring, agile working, and continuous improvement.
