Teaching Assistants – Key Stage 3 & 4 (Secondary School – Newport)
Location: Newport
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £90 – £105 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Are you passionate about education and eager to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Newport area to recruit dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025.

About the Role:
You will support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment. Your role will involve working alongside class teachers to deliver tailored support, promote student engagement, and assist with academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support in core subjects
* Assist students with SEN and those needing additional learning support
* Help manage behaviour and maintain a calm, inclusive classroom atmosphere
* Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to support student progress
* Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual needs
What We're Looking For:
* A genuine interest in working with young people in an educational setting
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, supportive approach
* The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* Experience working with young people (in schools, youth work, tutoring, or similar) is desirable
* A calm and patient manner, particularly when supporting students with SEMH or SEN needs
Ideal Candidates May Have:
* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (not essential)
* Previous school-based experience
* Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs
