Overview
Service engineer based in Cambridge/Northamptonshire area.
Responsibilities
* Communicate with customers on all call activities up to and including scheduled arrival time, scheduled calls, and any deviation that may have occurred.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose failures, execute repairs at the customer site. Completes repairs within standard guidelines as set by the company: repair time, quality of repairs, amount of rework, quantity of repairs, labour efficiency and other measures.
* Maintain a parts inventory including return of non-used parts.
* Provide progress status online during the day including updating service call activity and keeping management aware of any issues requiring additional attention.
* Participation in special projects as requested.

General

This implies that every employee has a good knowledge about SHEQ and other policies within the company, especially those which apply within the employee’s own department.
Flexibility and willingness to travel
Willingness to travel with little notice is required, and there will be an element of staying away from home; candidates should have the flexibility to work on call.
Competence requirements
* Education: Degree (academic or professional master) or certification in electrical engineering or technical field.
* 5 years (print Industry) or equivalent transferable knowledge.
* Knowledge of the printing industry.
* Strong mechanical, electrical and computer skills.
* Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25lbs and frequently lift up to 50lbs, occasionally more than 100lbs.
* Problem solving and troubleshooting.
* Service minded, build trust relationships with customers.
* Meet deadlines and manage stress => strong organizational skills.
