Overview
The main purpose of this role is to assist with the timely and safe transfers and escorting of patients around the hospital. We are looking for team players who are flexible and empathetic, able to relate to all manner of patients with understanding and care, respecting their privacy and dignity to provide a caring and confidential service. The hours are 12:00 – 22:30, 7 days a week. The post holder will provide Transfer Team skills to all wards and departments across the Trust and will be required to be flexible, dynamic and able to organise and prioritise their own workload. This role supports the Trust’s commitment to outstanding care for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide transfer team support to all wards and departments across the Trust to ensure smooth patient movements.
* Assist with the timely and safe transfers and escorting of patients around the hospital.
* Maintain close liaison with other disciplines and deliver courteous, reliable, high-quality service to patients, relatives and carers, and to healthcare professionals and wards.
* Follow the protocols and policies of the Trust, with particular attention to infection control, equality and diversity, privacy and dignity.
* Organise and prioritise own workload; work well under pressure; be a professional who upholds care, consideration and respect for patients at all times.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Flexible, dynamic, and able to work independently when needed; strong team player.
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and committed to caring for patients while maintaining privacy and dignity.
* Ability to relate to patients with understanding and empathy and to maintain trust values of the organisation.
* Familiarity with and adherence to Trust protocols and policies, including infection control and equality and diversity.
* Effective communication and liaison with other disciplines and wards across the Trust.
* Willingness to work the specified shift pattern (12:00 – 22:30) and mobility to transfer patients as required.
