Job summary
Two posts are advertised for the role of Associate Clinical Director of Research and Development (ACD R&D), contributing to the next phase of development of R&D in the Trust.
The ACDs will be directly accountable to the Clinical Director of R&D and will work closely with the Head of Research and R&D manager. Both posts will be expected to deputise where appropriate for the Clinical Director on matters relating to research and innovation.
Post 1: Focus on the safe and effective delivery of high-quality research involving service users and carers as participants, providing leadership and support for research leads across specialties.
Post 2: Focus on growing commercial research and clinical trials of Investigational Medicinal Products, and will contribute to job planning and appraisal of clinical academics.
Both posts will support the CD for R&D in developing and delivering the innovations department in the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Work closely with the Trust's R&D Manager on NIHR Portfolio studies, including identifying and supporting Principal Investigators.
Provide leadership and support for the Trust's Research Leads for specialties and commercial studies.
Support the Clinical Director of R&D and the Head of Research in developing and delivering the Trust's R&D Strategy.
