Location: Sunbury-on-Thames, UKHours: Full-Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00pm)Package: Up to £35,000–£45,000 per annum
About the Role:
I am recruiting for an experienced and highly organised Export Specialist on behalf of my client based in Sunbury-on-Thames. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong background in export operations and a working knowledge of import entries. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end export processes across multiple transport modes, ensure compliance with international trade regulations, and play a key role in mentoring junior staff.
This role requires someone confident, outgoing, and capable of working independently while being a collaborative team player.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage full-cycle export operations for air, sea, road, and courier shipments.
* Prepare and process all necessary export documentation.
* Handle carnets, export licences, and dangerous goods (DG) shipments.
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
* Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.
* Support import processes as needed.
* Supervise and mentor a junior team member, sharing knowledge and best practices.
* Act as second contact for alarm call-outs and perform local driving as required.
Requirements:
* Minimum 7 years of experience in export operations.
* Strong knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and international shipping.
* Familiarity with import entries is ideal but not essential.
* Valid UK driving licence (forklift licence is an advantage).
* Confident, outgoing, and proactive with strong decision-making skills.
* Willingness to be open-minded and work collaboratively within a team.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Comfortable learning new systems (training provided on BoxTop and Sequoia).
