Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) is seeking a Project Buyer to join the supply chain team on a fixed-term contract. The role involves supporting bid activities through cost consolidation, supplier negotiations, and ensuring alignment with bid requirements. Additionally, the Project Buyer will manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, acting as a key stakeholder between engineering and design teams, and liaising with suppliers on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities. Responsibilities include:
1. Bid Support: Consolidate costings, negotiate pricing, evaluate supplier quotations, and collaborate with stakeholders on bid challenges.
2. NPI Project Management: Engage with engineering teams, manage sourcing and procurement of NPI components, develop project plans, and mitigate risks.
3. Supplier Management: Build supplier relationships, assess and qualify suppliers, and monitor performance.
4. Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements and contribute to supply chain strategies.
Requirements include proven procurement or project buying experience, preferably within aerospace or defense, strong negotiation skills, project management experience, stakeholder management, organizational skills, and familiarity with ERP and Microsoft Office. Desirable qualifications include CIPS certification, experience in regulated industries, and knowledge of lean practices.
This position requires the ability to work in the UK without restrictions and to undergo UK National Security Vetting.
