Job Description:
To ensure that assessments, plans, interventions, and reviews (APIR) processes are timely, well planned, child-focused, and follow the appropriate statutory and decision-making frameworks.
Investigate and make recommendations to senior management concerning staff conduct and professional responsibilities.
Provide direct line management and supervise up to 8 front-line managers, promoting their professional development.
Promote participation and the child's voice as part of leadership of the CCHDT & Residential Respite service, prioritizing child-focused decision-making.
Build and maintain effective partnerships across statutory services and the VCS to promote joined-up responses to children and families.
Be jointly responsible for recruiting and selecting staff, ensuring safe and appropriate processes are followed.
Provide strong leadership, working with colleagues to develop effective communication and service development.
Manage the service area within budget, ensuring financial effectiveness.
Meet local and national targets, performance managing the service to ensure progress and improvement.
Address poor performance supportively to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
Exercise professional judgment within council guidelines, being self-reliant daily. Provide regular, high-quality supervision to managers.
Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.
