Our client, a prominent player in the Energy sector, is seeking a Principal Materials & Corrosion Engineer for a contract position based in Manchester or Aberdeen. This role involves working on a Carbon Capture & Storage project on the East Coast of the UK.Key Responsibilities:Acting as the client focal point for all material-related activities and technical queries for BP's NEP/NZT ProjectsProviding guidance and advice on material issues and corrosion problemsPreparing engineering documentation related to material selection, cathodic protection, and coatingsPreparing Material Selection Reports/Philosophies and Material Selection Diagrams (MSD's)Developing Corrosion Control, Corrosion Monitoring, and Cathodic Protection PhilosophiesCreating Cathodic Protection design reports, drawings, and Material Take Offs (MTOs)Supporting Asset Integrity Plans, Corrosion Management, and Corrosion Risk AssessmentsEstimating manhours, creating deliverable lists, and drafting technical write-ups for projects and proposalsReviewing procedures, reports, and drawings submitted by SuppliersSupporting procurement activities related to cathodic protection materialsAssisting with on-site activities as necessaryChampioning Sustainability, Safety, Health, and Environment by prioritising personal safety and wellbeingJob Requirements:Significant experience in a similar role on FEED & EPC projects for onshore brownfield oil & gas facilities, gas pipelines, and energy transition projectsExtensive knowledge in materials and corrosion engineeringProficiency in preparing and reviewing materials and corrosion-related documentationStrong understanding of corrosion control and cathodic protection methodologiesExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailCapability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamRelevant engineering degree or equivalent qualificationIf you are an experienced Principal Materials & Corrosion Engineer seeking a challenging contract opportunity, we would love to hear from you
