Overview
Hours of Work: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Part-time considered)
Role Summary: The Private Client Solicitor will be responsible for delivering a high-quality legal service to clients across all areas of Private Client work. The role includes advising on and managing matters such as wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, powers of attorney, tax and succession planning, and Court of Protection applications. The post holder will be expected to work in compliance with professional and regulatory requirements, contribute to the growth and development of the department and wider firm, participate in business development activities, and supervise or mentor junior members of staff as required.

* Wills and estate planning
* Probate and estate administration
* Lasting Powers of Attorney and deputyship applications
* Trust creation and administration
* Tax and succession planning
* Court of Protection matters
You will work closely with clients to deliver clear, practical advice and will be supported by experienced colleagues. The role also offers opportunities to get involved in business development
Qualifications
* Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in Private Client law. STEP qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable.
* Ability to manage a broad caseload with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong technical knowledge and judgement.
* Solid understanding of inheritance tax planning, trusts, and complex estate administration.
* Knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct, anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, GDPR, and other compliance requirements.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
* Commercial and financial awareness, including responsibility for matter profitability, billing, and fee income targets.
* IT proficiency, including the use of case management systems, digital dictation, Microsoft Office, and remote working tools.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands.
* Business development skills, with a proactive approach to networking and client engagement.
