Production Manager role based in Wrexham, working for a well-established aerospace manufacturing company.
Description
To oversee Paint Production Management, coordinate work schedules, and manage resourcing levels to support business requirements. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to ensure product flow within the Production department to meet customer deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
1. Planning, organizing, and scheduling daily manufacturing work to ensure delivery to customer standards, deadlines, and costs as per business plans.
2. Embedding and ensuring compliance with business processes within manufacturing.
3. Implementing and monitoring KPIs from raw material receipt to dispatch.
4. Reviewing and improving manufacturing processes through lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
6. Supporting escalation of work issues to Production Management.
7. Providing detailed reports on productivity, personnel matters, machining issues, and safety concerns.
8. Collaborating with Engineering and Production teams to optimize costs and resource utilization.
9. Verifying component quality and supporting quality issue investigations.
10. Contributing to continuous improvement and waste reduction efforts.
11. Managing disciplinary matters, attendance, and timekeeping.
12. Managing operations within budget.
13. Conducting annual appraisals, training, and development planning.
14. Participating in recruitment and maintaining headcount budgets.
15. Performing other duties as required to support business needs.
Profile
Preferred BSc in Engineering, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in industry. Strong communication, leadership, and management skills are essential. Must have experience as a Production Manager in aerospace or defense sectors. Experience managing paint or surface treatments production is a plus. ILM Level 5 in Management or equivalent is preferred.
