Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the management of Government Furnished Assets (GFA) in Alongside Services in accordance with MOD DEFSTAN 05-099 Part 1 and JSP 886 Defence Logistics Support Chain Manual. The successful candidate will ensure the stewardship, accountability, and physical stock management of GFA, maintaining compliance with MOD contractual and regulatory requirements.
Report to the Ship Support Operations Lead, working as part of the Alongside Services Team. Be responsible for Statutory Examinations and Servicing, Repair of Lifting Equipment, Coordinating Calibration of equipment. Assign the right resources to the asset using Keystone, fully utilising all available in-house lifting assets or requesting external equipment hire if required. Maintain asset information in Keystone and liaise with maintenance teams for regular updates on out-of-service assets. Support the team in the Central Registry of Lifting Gear.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all Lifting associated GFA/GFE equipment is managed and is fully compliant.
* Ensure all Lifting associated GFA/GFE is managed in line with DEFSTAN 05-099 Part 1, including stewardship, stock control, and audit readiness.
* Maintain accurate records of Lifting associated GFA/GFE using Keystone.
* Implement and monitor procedures for receiving, storing, issuing, and disposing of Lifting associated GFA/GFE.
* Manage Warehouse Operations: supervise a team to conduct daily warehouse activities including inbound/outbound logistics, inventory control, and space optimization.
* Conduct programmed and non-programmed stocktaking, including snap checks and handover audits.
* Ensure warehouse cleanliness, safety, and security standards are upheld.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate warehouse staff, ensuring training and adherence to MOD safety protocols; assign tasks and monitor performance against KPIs and MOD standards; foster a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
* Prepare and submit reports on GFA status, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
