As the Lead EC&I Maintenance Engineer your role is to provide end-to-end support to the asset within your area of discipline. The role is responsible for ensuring the technical delivery of day‑to‑day maintenance in accordance with strategy, plant defect management/rectification, short and long‑term outage delivery, projects and tasks are executed to the correct quality on time and within budget. Maintain plant area knowledge and expertise within maintenance discipline ensuring risk based maintenance techniques are applied to deliver safe, flexible and reliable plant. Adopt a lead position during the delivery of projects and outages, ensuring all preparation and delivery are completed within the Gated Process criteria.
Responsibilities
* Day to day maintenance of plant – ensuring technical issues/defects are resolved in accordance with operational requirements.
* Development and review of short‑term maintenance strategies to improve plant reliability.
* Identification and delivery of key maintenance tasks during regime outages to optimise plant reliability and breakdown conditions.
* Plan and implement EC&I projects or routine activities by contractors on site, ensuring safe working methods and quality of work.
* Provide subject‑area technical support to the Maintenance Engineers and Technicians.
* Budget management and cost control, ensuring the long‑term business plan reflects maintenance requirements.
* Take a lead role in RCA investigations, plant modifications and resolution of technical issues.
* Support the Central Engineering team during large outage periods, taking responsibility for identified work packages.
* Manage staff competence and development, promote employee well‑being and encourage a positive team culture.
Qualifications
* Qualified to HND or Degree level in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
* Membership of a relevant professional body such as the IET.
* Experience in power station Electrical and/or C&I maintenance is an advantage; similar heavy‑industry experience is also considered.
* High level of asset‑specific technical knowledge and competence within the discipline area.
* Experience directing a team at a senior engineering level.
* Experience managing complex plant issues, and ability to provide advice to operations, maintenance and engineering.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, regulations and directives.
