We will support our growing project management team, delivering work on our Northern Powerhouse Rail framework, specifically on the Sheffield Programme of work.
What You Will Be Doing
As Principal Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of an exciting ES3 multi-disciplinary project focusing on Sheffield Station. You will act as a project management team leader, providing advice, guidance and supervision as appropriate to project management teams, operational managers, clients and suppliers in coordinating multidisciplinary teams from across the North in the delivery of this high-profile project as part of a five-year framework.
Responsibilities
* Comply with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
* Be responsible for the commercial success of the project, controlling budgets and managing costs associated with deliverables.
* Oversee the actions of junior staff undertaking similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions.
* Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level and higher, including presenting proposals.
* Assume the role of people manager when required by the business.
* Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
What You Will Bring To Us
* Developed experience and expertise within the field of Project Management.
* Experience in undertaking project related tasks associated with the management of health, safety and welfare, e.g., Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Apply project management theory and principles to complex or ambiguous situations, adapting concepts to reach correct outcomes.
* Act as day-to‑day main project management contact for a project where required under the terms of the commission.
* Take ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables to a reasonable standard.
* Highly experienced with project management software and tools. Ability to check work produced by others and validate and approve the use of new tools.
* Demonstrate very good commercial awareness.
* Excellent knowledge of suppliers and the services they provide, maintained through regular contact.
* Excellent oral communicator, able to present arguments and ideas very well to peers, more senior colleagues and clients, and deliver internal training workshops to peers and presentations to clients.
* Excellent understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare, including specific regulations.
* Successful completion of either the professional review or end point assessment resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an appropriate subject.
* Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status with the Association for Project Management (or equivalent).
