About the role and the home
Vacancy for a Support Worker at Fairview and Craigdene which is a residential care home for 26 adults (20's to 70's) with learning disabilities.
£13.02 per hour. This is a permanent contracted position.
Fairview & Craigdene has a deliberately homely atmosphere with long term residents. And a very stable and happy team of staff. The current average length of employment is approximately six years.
Duties
Assisting in meeting the personal needs of adult residents with learning disabilities, including washing, showering, bathing, dressing and undressing, toileting and feeding.
Participating in the day-to-day activities of the home including housekeeping duties, cooking, dishwashing, laundry etc.
Ensuring residents are treated with the utmost respect at all times and helping promote resident participation in the life of the homes. Assisting colleagues to maintain a welcoming safe and caring environment.
Essential skills
Good communication skills. Good team worker. Applicants must be flexible regarding hours of work and be willing to work days evenings nights and weekends when required.
Desirable skills
Evidence of working in a caring environment is desirable but not essential.
